Here at ACE we understand that critical thinking skills are vital to doing well on standardized tests. We are offering a new class to jumpstart those critical thinking skills! Skills such as making decisions and finding conclusions, locating evidence, evaluating evidence, Inferences, facts and opinions, probable truths and facts, logical connectives, reasoning, errors in reasoning, valid and invalid arguments, fallacies, analogies, and making better decisions will be covered. This class is being offered to students in 4th grade up to 12th grade.
The ACT is unlike any test you've ever taken! It requires a new way of thinking. For instance, in a regular high school English class, you would need a minimum of 70% to earn the lowest possible C. On the other hand, on the ACT, 70% correct would yield a score of approximately 25. While 25 may or may not be a good score for you, it is by far above the national average of 21. This means you can get a lot of questions wrong on the ACT and still achieve a good score and go to college!
What is the ACT? The ACT, an entrance exam required by most colleges and universities, is used to make admissions decisions. It is a pencil/paper, multiple-choice test administered by ACT, Inc. The ACT test measures readiness for college and allows colleges to compare applicants using a standardized score. College admissions officers utilize GPA, standardized scores, letters of recommendation, high school classes, extracurricular activities and other admission requirements to determine eligibility for admissions. Higher ACT scores typically mean more opportunities to be accepted into a variety of schools as well as monetary assistance in the form of scholarships. Here at ACE, we offer private and group tutoring for the ACT subtests (English, Math, Science, Reading, & Writing). Our textbook provides proven strategies, skill builders, practice quizzes and 5 full length exams. We offer a flexible schedule to accommodate each student. We do not offer drop in classes at set times.
ACE Academy serves students in grades K-12 for homework help and specific subjects, mainly focusing on reading, English and math.
